

Development of ecological agriculture
Also attending the Workshop were leaders of the organizing units: Comrade Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Member of the Party Delegation, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Member of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth; Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; Comrade Bui Hoang Tung - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Central Agencies. On the side of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies, there was Comrade Dinh Xuan Tung - Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies attending the Workshop.
In his welcoming speech at the Workshop, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Xuan Dinh emphasized: Through historical periods, our Party and State have always attached importance to and determined that agriculture, farmers, and rural areas play a strategic and important role in the process of building, protecting and developing the country. In line with the policies on agricultural, farmer and rural development, the Government has directed ministries, departments, branches, unions at all levels and localities to focus resources and implement solutions to support farmers, develop agriculture and rural economy, achieving many positive results, including great contributions from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.
In addition to the achieved results, agricultural, farmer and rural development in general still shows many limitations, difficulties and obstacles. These are: Agricultural development is still unsustainable, the growth rate tends to decrease, production and business organization still lacks linkages; the quality and efficiency of collective economic and cooperative sectors are not high; vocational training, job creation and labor restructuring still have many shortcomings; rural labor tends to age; Labor productivity and average income of rural residents are still low, the poverty rate is still high, especially in remote areas, border areas, island areas, and ethnic minority areas.
The workshop focused on discussing 3 main contents: Current situation, challenges and orientations in developing green agriculture, ecological agriculture, sustainable agriculture adapting to climate change in Vietnam from the perspective of youth; The role of collective economy in developing green agriculture, ecological agriculture, sustainable agriculture adapting to climate change in Vietnam from the perspective of youth; Youth Union members and young people participating in sustainable agricultural development and building a model of Vietnamese farmers in the new era.
At the workshop, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Central Office of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Mai Bac My presented a speech with the content: "Building a model of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members in rural Vietnam with qualifications and capacity to master in a comprehensive and civilized direction".
"Towards the countryside and for young farmers is one of the very important tasks of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Central Agencies. Building a model of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members in the countryside today is a key, breakthrough and decisive task for the success of the cause of industrialization and modernization of agriculture by 2030, with a vision to 2045" - Comrade Mai Bac My emphasized.
Comrade Pham Trung Bac - Deputy Director of the Center for Science, Technology and Digital Economy, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance expressed the views to clarify the position and role of the Youth Union members and young people in the collective economic sector to develop green agriculture, ecological agriculture, sustainable agriculture adapting to climate change in Vietnam.
Also within the framework of the workshop, a discussion was held on the role of youth in developing ecological agriculture and building a model of a new-age Vietnamese farmer with the participation of experts, speakers, and outstanding youth who oriented the role and responsibility of youth in developing agriculture and rural areas; answered difficulties and problems; disseminated mechanisms and preferential policies for human resource development, capital sources, and product consumption markets for youth cooperatives; shared lessons learned in the process of establishing a career with the model of cooperative companies and enterprises in the agricultural sector.
Ms. Trinh Thi Ly - Deputy Director of Sinh Duoc Cooperative in Ninh Binh shared, "Sinh Duoc Cooperative pays great attention to product research and development. In addition, Sinh Duoc Cooperative also incorporates cultural stories into products and product labels. Realizing that the e-commerce trend is gradually gaining popularity, the Cooperative has focused on promoting communication activities on Tik Tok and Facebook. The content of the short videos posted is also very simple and rustic, mainly revolving around the daily production work at the Cooperative and the lives of workers. In particular, the Tik Tok channel has become a trend with millions of views, helping Sinh Duoc's products become more widely known.
Sharing at the discussion, Mr. Nguyen The Tung - General Director of Queen Farm (Binh Phuoc) talked about the role of young people in participating in the development of ecological agriculture associated with building a high-tech organic agricultural model.
Mr. Nguyen The Tung said: Before, I knew nothing about agriculture. I studied for a master's degree in Management Doing business in the UK. It was my mother who inspired me and gave me the opportunity to learn about farming and high-tech agricultural models. From the initial confusion, I gradually became more and more passionate about garden design, learning about fruit growing techniques and starting to build an experimental high-tech durian farm, applying organic farming processes and ISO 9001:2000 quality management system.
Currently, Queen Farm in Bu Dang district (Binh Phuoc province) is growing durian on an area of 55 hectares. The agricultural mindset at Queen Farm is "original" agriculture but with a systematic approach and a proactive, sustainable mindset. Queen Farm's philosophy is ESG: Environment, Governance and Social.
In his closing speech at the workshop, comrade Nguyen Duy Viet - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance affirmed: With the knowledge and experience gathered from the workshop, delegates and young people will continue to research, study, practice, promote the spirit of creativity, dynamism, initiative, volunteerism, contributing to building Vietnam's agriculture to be increasingly developed, modern, effective and sustainable. At the same time, he requested that all levels and sectors continue to pay attention to and coordinate to support youth work, create conditions for young people to actively participate in the development of agriculture, collective economy, cooperatives and make recommendations and proposals to the Government to develop a Project on promoting the role of young people in the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas. He requested that all levels of the Youth Union promote propaganda, education, and raise awareness among young people about the position and role of young people in the development of agriculture, collective economy and cooperatives.
